Mrs. Becki Sims
Becki has sixteen years of educational experience, K-12. Ten of those years have been in District 49, where she has served as a classroom teacher and school administrator. At the district level, Becki previously served on the district’s Math Leadership Team and Restorative Practices Leadership Team. In addition to Becki’s teaching and leadership experience within the district, she has earned a Master’s in Education with a concentration in Adult Education and Training from University of Phoenix, where she was a Teacher Appreciation Scholarship award winner. She also earned her Educational Leadership and Principal Licensure designation from Colorado State University.
Becki is a Missouri native, but has resided in the Colorado Springs area for 26 years and considers Colorado home. She loves to cook, camp, hike, ride on trails in Colorado's backcountry, and has recently taken up golf. She and her husband have three young adult children and enjoy spending time with them as often as possible.
Becki first joined the Vista Ridge team in 2021. Go Wolves!

Mrs. Melissa Hernandez
Melissa joined the Vista admin team during the 23-34 school year, and she is excited to be a Wolf! She is a Colorado Springs native and is proud to be a part of such a great community the majority of her life. She went to college at California State University, Fullerton (GO TITANS) where she met her husband who is also an educator at a neighboring high school. They have 3 very active, amazing daughters who keep them on their toes!
After 9 years in the classroom, as an interventionist and instructional coach, she went back to school to get her administration license and master’s degree in Educational Leadership from UCCS. Melissa is passionate about helping students to find their pathway to success after high school. She is excited and happy to be part of the VR family. Go Wolves!
